This new mental exercise (mentioned in this post) which has to do with visualizing a closure conversation, seems to be working. I am only 3 days into it, but already I’m feeling major emotional relief.
For roughly 13 months, I’ve had a heavy, aching heart. The worst part has been the longing for her. That pain is indescribable. As of this morning, it is at least half gone and my head feels clear for the first time in well over a year.
It is too early to say that this is a permanent emotional healing, but it is very promising. Thank you angels for bringing this knowledge to me (why couldn’t you have done this a year ago?) lol
What I really like about this technique is that it allows me to have a kind, no-conflict conversation with her (in my head) and then based on her unwillingness (or inability because she is trapped) to work on healing her own emotional wounds, for me to make my decision to say goodbye and close the door while wishing her love and blessings.
Everyone has had fucked up shit happen to them in childhood and probably in adulthood too. But, part of maturing is taking responsibility for healing ourselves. We must not make our healing someone else’s responsibility.
