Love between a man and a woman is typically romantic, but not always. It can be something other than a romantic (lustful) love. It can in fact be a higher form. It can be spiritual.
I cannot describe spiritual love, other than to say that it is so much deeper. Having deep spiritual love for someone can include a romantic component, but romance is not required. For example, I can have a loving friendship with a woman that lasts decades and never approach her sexually. As another example, I can love God with all of my heart and soul. That doesn’t mean that I want to fuck Him! (lol… He is laughing too.)
Maybe, two souls who have lived many past lives together make a plan before coming to yet another Earth life. Maybe one says “I’ll be an older man”. The other says “I’ll be a young woman”. Then maybe they agree “we will meet late in the man’s life. Both of us know that being together is taboo because of the huge age gap, but we will decide to do it anyway to prove to the world that true love (between adults) is not subject to a third person’s opinion. The love we share originates with God. Who is above God that they should question the love and connection that He has created?”
